From boarding school to modern conference facility
In 1990, Sigtuna School, a boarding school, was transformed into Hotel Kristina's hotel and conference centre. The functionalist buildings, dating from the 1930s, still house many memories from their era as a secure haven for pupils who spent a major part of their time here.
The original details were kept during the extensive renovations, and the hotel is designed and furnished with the focus on a colourful Thirties-style.
The students' rooms are now hotel bedrooms, the separate school hall is Hotel Kristina's own Theatre, and the school's pool is still here for anyone wanting to swim a few lengths. The swimming pool, now owned by the municipality, is open to the public. Admission to the pool is free for our conference guests, and you can obtain your ticket at the hotel reception. For hours of opening .
Hotel Kristina has taken its name from the legend that says that Queen Kristina rode over the hills where the hotel is situated, to Wenngarn Castle.
